Hotel Hvolsvollur - Central South Iceland

The hot tub was a wonderful treat after a long day of exploring, and we loved that the hotel is pet-friendly, accommodating our non-service dog.

In my wife's opinion, a non-slip surface in the tub would be a great improvement for families traveling with young children.

The restaurant was small for dinner here, I had hot dishes. The location was nice and absolutely perfect and the free parking was on-site.

The rooms were all good sized and huge with comfortable bed, TV and TV with Netflix. The hotel had a comfy location near Kronan Supermarket;))

Spacious room, friendly staff, with a hot tub area that we explored. The included breakfast was great, with traditional options that fueled our adventures wonderfully.

Location was good, near main road. Breakfast was good as well, although nothing special.

Hotel seemed a little shabby and run down. Hot tub was turned off when we arrived, and we were told we would have to wait 45 minutes. We didn't bother as it was on the roof with zero atmosphere. Pillows were old and lumpy, although staffer made every effort to find us the best she could out of their stockroom, which was nice of her. No elevator to second floor. Large tour groups seem to frequent this place, so might be an idea to avoid restaurant when they come en masse. Did not stay for dinner for forgoing reason as well as no atmosphere in dining room. Price was very high for what was our least preferred hotel in Iceland.

Excellent value and absolutely brilliant hotel in a really good historic style building. Delicious and satisfactory breakfast with several options and magnificent location. Location adjacent to South-West Iceland, an industrial area and the famous church. ...  

Spacious and clean rooms offered a comfortable stay, though the decor felt a bit outdated. Breakfast provided a nice selection, including fresh bread and espresso, a pleasant start to the day. The staff were friendly and accommodating, yet some areas needed minor repairs.

It has two small hot tubs in the roof to relax yourselves after a hard day visiting the South of te Iceland. The room was big and comfortable enough. Buffet was quite varied, though lacking of sweet bakery...  

Spacious Room with a Good Breakfast

The breakfast offered a wonderful selection of traditional Icelandic options, made the morning special. The staff were cute and efficient. I wish the hot tub area was a bit more inviting to use after a long day of exploring.

The friendly staff helped us find a restaurant down the road. It's worth checking the breakfast items' availability if you're late.

Great family room for three with good dryness and warmth! The hot tub was an amazing treat after a soggy day. Easy check-in and check-out. A solid breakfast with essential options. Perfect base to explore the fine beauty of central south...  

Had a lovely time during our one-night stay! The breakfast buffet was fantastic, especially loved the homemade warm black bread and make-your-own waffles. The room was spacious and clean, but a bit outdated. I really enjoyed the hot shower after a long day out exploring.
